There’s no better way to enjoy the Colorado summer than to get outdoors.  Biking or running are fantastic ways to enjoy being out and about in the gorgeous Colorado scenery.   There are all kinds of group events and races near Parker Hilltop for adults, kids, and families.

Adventure Cycling
Adventure Cycling in Aurora (only twenty minutes from Parker Hilltop), sponsors Saturday morning Adventure Rides that are open to the public.  All ages and abilities are welcomed.  Everyone meets together, then splits up according to ability and inclination.  Experienced cyclists can challenge themselves while others take things at a more leisurely rate.  If you have not done much biking and would like to start out easy, this is the right place!  At the end of the ride, everyone comes back together again, talking and laughing about the ride.  The rides are held every Saturday that temperatures are above 35 and it is not snowing or raining.

Parker Kids TRY-athlon
The countdown has begun!  Saturday, August 6, is the big day at the Parker Recreation Center.  Kids from 6 to 12 years of age meet in friendly competition for a real triathlon.  The race includes swimming, biking, and running segments.  The friendly, “Try” part of it is that there is a very kid-appropriate emphasis on trying hard and having fun, rather than being totally focused on winning.  Registration information available online.

So Long to Summer 5K
Celebrate the end of summer with a last hurrah at Salisbury Park!  A timed race with prizes for top three finishers will be followed by a huge, all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for all participants.  Not interested in running?  Have fun walking the course with friends!  T-shirt and goody bag for all participants, as well as chance to win fabulous raffle prizes.  Registration information available online.
