How to Create a Productive and Distraction Free Home OfficeThese days more and more people have the opportunity to occasionally work from home.  For those in need of a more flexible work schedule, this arrangement is ideal and also allows you to work in the comfort of your own pajamas.  Unfortunately, with the good comes the bad, and one of the downsides to working from home is the number of potential distractions around your apartment.  Listed below are some helpful tips to create a productive and distraction free office in your Parker Hilltop apartment home:

  • If you happen to have a spare bedroom in your apartment, this room is the obvious choice to convert to your home office.  If not, you will need to dedicate a corner of your bedroom to serve as your work area.  Ideally, you will want to be able to close a door to your “work zone” to block out any potential distractions around your apartment.
  • Keep your workspace clean and simple by adopting a minimalist approach.  If you need to clean up your computer and desk area, check out a recent post that we made about where you can get computer cleaning equipment and necessity items such as a bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
  • If possible, try to get your work done during off hours such as early in the morning or late in the evenings when other people are typically not working.  You will be able to maximize your productivity since the phone won’t be ringing off the hook and your email inbox won’t be blowing up.
